Green Tea Morning Star No. 4 – description

I always try to catch every opportunity to try some new tea. I always give priority to tea leaves, but I like to try tea in filter bags as well. I admit, I am one of those people that take teas from a hotel room as well. Do not be harsh in judging me, I think of it as a delayed drinking: instead in a hotel room, I drink it at home with camera and a notebook at hand. I have a serious tea addiction which I’m afraid, cannot be cured anymore.

Even though we all know that tea bags do not usually contain the high quality tea (but there are some exceptions to the rule), it sure is a true little pleasure to discover those that have perfectly balanced scent and taste. Regular tea bag, regular quantity of tea, precise instructions – water temperature of 70 degrees Celsius, steep for 1-3 minutes. I have to admit that this is one of the rare tea producers that suggest one minute brewing, which is perfectly OK and suitable for green tea.

Green Tea Morning Star No. 4 has a beautiful intense scent and lighter, but harmonious taste, without any trace of bitterness. Perfectly balanced mix of Chinese green tea and all possible tropical fruits (mango, lychee, pineapple, passion fruit). Lychee, passion fruit and mango are the most dominating flavors, while the rose is pretty much unnoticeable. To get things clear, this certainly is not something I would call a green tea, however, flavors are great, of an ideal intensity and go great together with green tea. This green tea doesn’t have that sharp taste of generic green teas usually packed in tea bags. It will leave you refreshed and warmed-up at the same time. I think that this tea could be great as iced-tea. Tekanne Zen Chai has a similar (but not that great) taste, and it also contains mango flavor.
