True tea lover top five teas is my personal list of the most favorite memorable teas that have a special place in my heart. I have tried thousands of teas in last ten years that I’ve been dealing with tea, writing reviews and visiting all possible tea shops in the world. Of course, there are more than five, but let’s start simple. If you are a big tea lover like I am, I do suggest you to take the opportunity and tried the gems from the list below. These teas will knock you off your feel.
Qi Lai Shan Gao Shan Oolong from Teamountains
Qi Lai Shan gao shan oolong tea from Taiwanese tea shop Teamountains is probably one of my all time favorite gao shan oolongs. Everything about this tea is perfect, from leaves, to taste, scent, color, there are no words to describe the divine feeling you will get from sipping this tea. Although quite expensive, with this tea Teamountains is offering a true artisan experience delivered in beautiful semi-ball shaped leaves. A definite must for all gao shan tea lovers.
Special for: visual appearance, scent, taste
Tiger Monkey green tea from Hatvala
Tiger Monkey green tea from Hatvala is one more gem among green teas. This Vietnamese green tea can beat all competition among wild pan-fired green teas. Beautifully shaped leaves, wild look and difficult character, all add up to uniqueness of this tea.
Special for: visual appearance, taste, character
Aged 1990 oolong from Tea from Taiwan
Aged 1990 oolong tea from Tea from Taiwan is the best aged oolong I have ever tried. Impossible to stop resteeping, beautiful color and one of the most complex characters a tea could offer. Brings back memories of old times.
Special for: visual appearance, character, scent
Ri Zhao Lu Cha green tea
I cannot but love this tea. Even though I will not put a specific tea vendor, I really want to recommend this tea to every green tea lover. Ri Zhao Lu Cha is probably the best Chinese tea I have ever tried. Seems like almost all of the vendors sell great quality tea, maybe because it is not widely known outside of China, so there is a little risk of stumbling upon a fake version.
Special for: scent, taste, freshness, appearance
Haru Bancha from Yuukicha
Haru Bancha from Yuukicha is an organic winter bancha, and the first spring tea of the year. Although there is some difference in each harvest, it offers the ultimate experience of green freshness in a tea. Almost like sipping the aroma of awakening trees in spring. Interesting tea leaves, unique color and aroma, this is a must for any true tea lover.
Special for: visual appearance, taste, scent, freshness
I hope you like my true tea lover top five teas list. I will be making more lists in the future, hopefully to share some of the best teas in the world with tea aficionados like you. If you have any suggestions for me, please share. I love discovering new tea gems.
